The automatic choke mechanism of a Weber DGAV carburetor is known to become cumbersome when coming of age.

This can result in a partially activated choke and consequently an overly rich mixture that in turn results in high fuel consumption and wear in tear in the engine.

In the past, parts for this system were a challenge to source but now Weber has brought out his "water choke repair kit" that replaces all the vulnerable elements of the system.

This kits consists of a new bi-metallic thermostat, a new housing with coolant hose unions, a plastic isolator disc, the gasket and bolt & washer.

The alternative is to replace the water choke with a cable-operated manual system which you will find HERE.
